Initial impressions: Subtle with edgy looks

While the TUF Gaming line slots in below the ROG line, it has a design aesthetic that will attract gamers. You get an aluminum lid with symmetrical lines and ASUS’ logo right at the center.

The brushed aluminum palm rest has a PCB-like detailing, giving the TUF Gaming FX504 an interesting design aesthetic that will make it stand out from the competition.

Aside from a brushed aluminum palm rest, you have an illuminated full-sized keyboard. No RGB lighting here guys; instead, the keyboard lights up to a fiery red color, which is a pretty good color choice.

For the display, you get a 15.6-inch Full HD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The 120hz panel is a godsend feature for gamers, as it will help you avoid those screen tearing issues during games.

To keep things cool, you have a large exhaust vent at the back of the laptop. The FX504 comes with either a GTX1050 or GTX1060 GPU and either a Core i7-8750 or Core i5-8300 processor depending on the model. To keep temps stable, the TUF Gaming FX504 utilizes an anti-dust cooling system that rapidly pushes out dust out of the laptop using two fans for optimal performance.

You have all your ports on the left side of the laptop. This consists of your AC jack, Ethernet port, HDMI port, USB 2.0 port, two USB 3.0 ports, and a combo headphone jack.

On the right side, you have your Kensington security lock and an SD card slot.

Powering the TUF Gaming FX504 is a 4-Cell 48Wh battery, which should last you a good 3-5 hours on a single charge depending on your usage. In case you can’t fully depend on full battery power, the TUF Gaming FX504 comes with a 120W AC adapter.

That’s it for our initial impressions of the TUF Gaming FX504 notebook. The one checked out here comes with a Core i5-8300 processor, 4GB RAM, 1TB HDD, and GTX1050 GPU, and is priced at Php 56,995. The TUF Gaming line is now available at all authorized ASUS stores.
