ASUS’ new phone family has leaked in its entirety a few weeks before launch
ASUS’ new ZenFone 4 family is slated to launch next week on August 19 in the Philippines, but someone just spoiled the Taiwanese manufacturer’s party, leaking press renders and specs of three of the new phones. Three members of the ASUS ZenFone 4 family has been uncovered on the company’s website, including the ZenFone 4, ZenFone 4 Selfie, ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro and more details of the earlier announced ZenFone 4 Max. There’s a lot to unpack here, so let’s get started:
The ZenFone 4 is the anchor for the entire lineup, and just like last year’s model it’ll be a mid-range smartphone that ties all of the low-end and high-end variants together. There will be two versions of the phone: one powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 630, and another sporting a more powerful Snapdragon 660 processor. Both variants will have 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and a 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display. It’ll still have that now trademark Zen-design that was so prominently featured on the ZenFone 3. Like all members of ASUS’ new phone family, the ZenFone 4 will have dual-cameras on the rear, including a primary 12-megapixel shooter as well as a 8-megapixel secondary camera.

The ZenFone 4 Selfie and Selfie Pro looks to be the company’s answer to the selfie-camera offerings of their Chinese rivals here in the Philippines, and sport dual cameras on the front of the phone rather than on the back. The ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro comes with a Snapdragon 625 processor, while the ZenFone 4 Selfie comes with a Snapdragon 430 processor. Both phones will have 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and a 3000mAh battery and while both displays are 5.5-inches big, the ZenFone 4 Selfie gets HD resolution while the Selfie Pro gets full HD AMOLED display.

As for the front cameras, you’re looking at a 24-megapixel/8-megapixel combination for the ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro, while the ZenFone 4 Selfie just gets a 20-megapixel/8-megapixel mix.
Finally, the ZenFone 4 Max. Just like last year it looks like there will be two versions of the Max – the earlier phone revealed is the higher end model, and the subject of today’s leak looks like a lower-end variant for emerging markets. The lower-end Max will have a 5.2-inch IPS panel with HD resolution, with a Snapdragon 425 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, 13-megapixel/5-megapixel rear camera and a smaller 4,100mAh battery.
