That’s high-praise for a mid-range phone
ASUS has always touted the camera performance of its mid-range ZenFone 5 ever since it was announced during MWC, and today image benchmarking site DxOMark has validated the Taiwanese company’s claims. According to them, the ZF5 has managed to attain an overall score of 90, putting it in the same class as Google’s original Pixel, the HTC U11 and Xiaomi’s Mi Note 3.
DxOMark notes that the phone does very well for a device in its class, with the camera delivering balanced performance across all shooting situations with good color and exposure, which eventually earned it a score of 93 points.
Its main drawbacks are texture and noise levels, especially when the light is low, and zoom performance. Video score for the ZenFone 5 is pegged at 86 points, which is respectable for a device of its class.
