Hands-on with the “Bass Monster” Audio-Technica PRO700 MK2
We currently have a review unit of the Audio-Technica PRO700 MK2. This thing has so much bass it puts almost the entire Beats Audio line to shame. I’ve tried a lot of headphones in the last few months and nothing beats the deep, thumpy, hard-hitting, and punchy bass these cans produce. If you like bass then this is the headphone that I will recommend without any hesitation whatsoever.
Initial Impressions
The PRO700 MK2 comes in your usual Audio-Technica box. It has a transparent side to show off the branded outer face of the ear cups. You open the box from the top and you’ll actually find several things inside it including a black leather pouch, two detachable cables (3.5mm and stereo), and the manual.
The construction of the cans is definitely top-notch. The headband is covered with some sort of leather and it’s very sturdy. It has the Audio-Technica brand at the top giving it a little more style and class. Being over-ears the ear cups are big but surprisingly comfortable to wear.
Full review coming soon
We’re going to put a few more hours into this and do the full review middle or late next week. So far though the bass is truly amazing to the point that it’s getting addictive. Jason Mraz, The Script, Sting, and all my usual favorites have taken a backseat to Jay-Z, Lupe Fiasco, and Usher because of the PRO700 MK2, hehe.
BOOM. BOOM. BOOM. Check again next week!
Note from the EIC: Thanks again to Audio Technica Philippines (like their Facebook Page!) for the loaner review unit!
