Bangkok in the Eyes of the Honor 10 Lite

Bangkok in the Eyes of the Honor 10 Lite

We check out the capabilities of the Honor 10’s cameras

Honor wants to convince prospective buyers that their latest budget phone—the Honor 10 Lite—has cameras that are very capable for its price range. We find their claim quite convincing: the Honor 10 Lite has a 24-megapixel f/2.0 front camera and a 13-megapixel f/1.8 primary rear camera assisted by a 2-megapixel f/2.4 depth sensor. Beyond the snappers, Honor outfitted it with a few camera features like AIS Night Mode, which aims to optimize the Honor 10 Lite’s low-light capabilities.

To see if they do perform, we brought the Honor 10 Lite along with us during a recent trip to Bangkok, Thailand. Check out some of the photos we took, starting with snaps at Shangri-la Bangkok:

In spite of mixed lighting conditions, the Honor 10 Lite managed to keep up in delivering decent low light performance. Using Night Mode helped in improving image detail.

As we trooped through the streets of Bangkok, the Honor 10 Lite performs well in broad daylight, though there were times that we had to adjust the exposure as it has a tendency of overexposing images. Our unit has beta software, so Honor will most likely address this quirk with the official retail units.

While we took a quick tour inside Museum Siam, the Honor 10 Lite’s Night Mode and Pro mode proved to be useful for snapping great photos. Just like how we liked the Honor 9 Lite’s Pro mode, we saw the full potential of the Honor 10 Lite’s camera with its Pro mode.

Overall, the Honor 10 Lite’s cameras do deliver as what it promises. While it may have a few quirks here and there, we expect Honor to address these with the official retail units.
