The market for Snapdragon-powered laptops is relatively small, and ASUS is one of the few brands that make laptops that use an ARM-based processor instead of the usual x86-based processor like those being offered from Intel and AMD. This time around, ASUS uses a Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 on the ExpertBook B3 Detachable.

As the name implies, the ExpertBook B3 Detachable is a 2-in-1 laptop that appears to be a potential rival to the Surface Go. Its design allows you to detach the keyboard and use it strictly as a tablet and has a built-in kickstand that lets you use the ExpertBook B3 Detachable in landscape or portrait mode.

Its form factor means that the ExpertBook B3 Detachable is targeted for remote work and study, especially since it is light (around 590g without the case) and has a long battery life (up to 21 hours). SInce it uses a mid-range Qualcomm chip, the ExpertBook B3 Detachable is meant to be more for productivity use and not for demanding tasks like photo and video editing.

Being a 2-in-1, the ExpertBook B3 Detachable has a stylus that’s housed within the tablet–though we find it strange that you’ll need to buy the stylus separately. Being meant for productivity, the ExpertBook B3 Detachable has a 5-megapixel front camera for video calls and a 13-megapixel rear camera for those times that you need to take a quick snap. The display is a 10.5-inch LCD panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio and 1920×1200 resolution and a claimed 121% sRGB color gamut coverage.

Other features include up to 8GB LPDDR4 RAM, 128GB eMMC memory, a single USB-C port, a headphone jack, WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, and a detachable keyboard that keeps ASUS’ ErgoLift design.

The model with 4GB RAM is currently on sale at Best Buy for $600(~Php 40k). No word yet if it’s coming to the Philippines, but ASUS will most likely make the ExpertBook B3 Detachable available on our shores soon.
