The TECNO Camon 40 Pro 5G has just been announced at MWC 2025 and is already making waves as a potential contender in the mid-range segment, particularly regarding its camera capabilities.

DXOMARK awarded it a score of 138, securing its position as the number one smartphone in the Global Photography Ranking for devices under $600. Furthermore, it received the Smart Choice Label, recognizing its strong performance in their tests.
As a midrange device, the Camon 40 Pro 5G is impressive, as it matches the score of the Xiaomi 14, a flagship from last year. To make things more interesting, its score is just two points behind the Xiaomi 13 Ultra and Galaxy S23 Ultra, both being flagship phones from 2023.
They noted that the Camon 40 Pro 5G performed exceptionally well in key areas of mobile photography, including low-light shooting, portrait shots, wide-angle capabilities, zoom capabilities, and video performance. DXOMARK also highlighted the device’s impressive exposure accuracy, dynamic range, noise management, and color accuracy, which significantly contributed to its high scores and propelled it to the top spot in its price range.
We have yet to test the device to determine if it delivers a good all-around experience. However, if capturing high-quality photographs is your primary requirement, the Camon 40 Pro 5G may be the ideal phone for you especially if you’re after a midrange camera phone.
