Another compact camera that will appeal to vloggers?
While mirrorless cameras have been a popular choice for vloggers, there is still a market for compact cameras, especially the premium models. Sony dominates in this scene with its RX 100 series, and Canon is catching up with its PowerShot GxX series. Recently, photos of a new PowerShot camera—possibly the PowerShot G7X Mark III—has made its rounds on the internet.
From the photos, the upcoming model has a 24 – 100mm (35mm equivalent) f/1.8 – f/2.8 image stabilized lens and presumably a 1-inch sensor and a DIGIC 8 image processor. It comes with a USB port, HDMI port, and a microphone jack.
Other features include a 3-inch articulating touchscreen, WiFi and NFC, and a control dial in the back. No word yet about its launch date, but we expect it to be Canon’s answer to Sony’s RX 100 VI.
Prior to this, Canon launched the APS-C PowerShot G1X Mark IIIÂ in the Philippines, while the G7X Mark II was launched in 2016.
