Meet the Canon Powershot S100
The Canon Powershot S95 is definitely one of the best point-and-shoot digital cameras in the market today. It takes outstanding photos even in lowlight conditions and it’s also very compact, portable, and well-designed. It has all the ingredients that make a smash hit consumer electronic product! That said it looks like Canon wants to retire the highly successful S95. They just announced the new Canon Powershot S100!
What’s the difference? They increased MP to 12.1 CMOS from the S95’s 10.1 CCD. It also has a better processor, ISO, Lens, Zoom, GPS, and it can even do 1080p@24fps video recording.
How much? $429.99 or roughly Php18,447. They’ll probably sell it for over Php30,000 here in the Philippines though, haha! Note that the Canon Powershot S95 US SRP is actually just $399.99 or Php17,200 but official Canon stores are selling it for more than Php25,000. >.<
Anyway with the pricing talk aside the Canon S100 looks very promising. It looks like those Multiply gadget sellers will have a field day when this comes out. 🙂
