The workhorse favorite gets an upgrade
Canon finally brings its latest EOS 1DX Mark III flagship DSLR camera to the Philippines after it was announced last month. A workhorse camera of choice among photojournalists, sports, and wildlife photographers, Canon maintained the EOS 1D’s 19-year old form factor and added new tech and features to it.
Headlining its line of new features include a new DIGIC X image processor that lets it shoot crop-free 4K60 video with 10-bit 4:2:2 Canon Log and up to 5.5k RAW video—the latter being a big first for any professional Canon camera. The 1DX Mark III is also faster than its predecessor as it can shoot up to 20FPS in Live View mode (16FPS through the optical viewfinder) and has a 1000 shot RAW file buffer AND unlimited JPEG buffer.
While the button layout of the EOS 1DX Mark III is virtually the same with its predecessors, its AF-On button now doubles as an optical trackpad for selecting autofocus points. As for autofocus, the EOS 1DX Mark III utilizes a DIGIC 8 processor for all 191 autofocus points, on top of 3,869 selectable AF positions, 525 automatic areas, and eye detection autofocus when in live view mode.
The EOS 1DX Mark III will be priced at Php 399,998 and will be available starting March.
