The local brand isn’t done, not by a long shot

Aside from the two phones we earlier took a look at, CloudFone is also launching a flagship phone later this year. We managed to take a quick peek at the prototype previously and came away impressed, especially since the local brand pledges that it won’t go over 10K when it launches in the near future.

Unfortunately we can’t give you specifics of the hardware since CloudFone didn’t want to disclose it, but after a bit of prodding they said that the phone will have 4GB of RAM and probably a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor inside of it, though that processor may change depending on CloudFone’s internal testing.

While there’s a bunch of phones already out in the market that have 3GB of RAM, no local manufacturer has released a phone with 4GB as of yet. A local company that can lay claim to that title gets to parade that feat in their marketing material, and you can bet CloudFone wants to beat their rivals to the punch.

As far as the other hardware on tap, you’re looking at a 5.2-inch full HD IPS display, with 2.5D glass on top. There’s a fingerprint scanner on the bottom of the device as well much like the Thrill Access. Like the company’s other devices, the back of the phone is removable, though the battery is not. The rear camera is a 16-megapixel deal with a 5-element lens plus LED flash, and the front camera is an 8-megapixel deal with an LED flash. There’s also LTE on board as well.

The overall design is easy on the eyes too, patterned after HTC’s One series of devices. Since CloudFone is promising to bring the device under the 10K price point, they can easily win over many fans looking for a truly bang-for-the-buck device. Like the other CloudFone devices we featured earlier, there’s no specific launch date for the new phone except for a vague “latter half of this year” pledge.
