Will Cherry Mobile’s ultra-thin smartphone pack a Qualcomm SoC?

While the Cherry Mobile Razor 2.0’s existence isn’t new to us, a teaser posted by the company in their Facebook page earlier today may signify that the new ultra-thin smartphone still has some surprises in its sleeve. Aside from finally giving us a good idea of how it will look like, the teaser may have also inadvertently revealed the processor used by their latest smartphone.

Cherry Mobile Razor 2.0 specs

  • 1.2GHz quad-core processor
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 4.7-inch HD IPS display Dragontrail Glass Protection, 720 x 1280 resolution
  • 4GB of storage (possibly expandable via micro SD)
  • 12-megapixel camera with AF and flash
  • 2-megapixel front camera
  • Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS
  • Dual-SIM (micro SIM)
  • Android 4.3

According to the promotional material released by Cherry Mobile today, the Razor 2.0 is able to use Qualcomm’s BatteryGuru app to improve battery life. For those who don’t know, only Qualcomm chips are eligible to use the app, which obviously means that the Razor 2.0 is equipped with a Qualcomm chip.

Aside from that little revelation, the Razor 2.0 is apparently only 7mm thin, and weighs almost next to nothing, at 100 grams. The 4.7-inch HD IPS display of the Razor 2.0 is also protected by Dragon Trail glass, which means that the display will be able to handle most accidental nicks and cuts. If you’re itching to grab this phone ASAP, Cherry Mobile said that they will start selling the phone this weekend.
