Cherry Mobile Touch HD First Look

A kind user sent us his first impressions of the Cherry Mobile Touch HD

A few days ago Cherry Mobile officially put their super affordable, quad-core smartphone, the Touch HD, on sale in Lazada. The Touch HD is one of the most affordable smartphones in its class, possesing a 5-inch HD display along with a quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM. While we’re waiting for Cherry Mobile to send their review unit of the budget handset, Unbox fan Khristian Tolentino was kind enough to share a few photos and screenshots from his device that he bought from Lazada.

Cherry Mobile Touch HD

  • 1.3GHz quad-core processor
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 5-inch HD IPS display, 1280 x 720 resolution
  • 8GB of internal storage, expandable
  • 8-megapixel rear camera
  • 2-megapixel front camera
  • Dual-SIM
  • WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS
  • Android 5.1 Lollipop
  • 1800mAh battery

His closeup shots of the Touch HD reveal a premium-looking faux leather finish at the back. He describes the display as superb comparable to MyPhone’s Infinity Lite, which is priced way higher than the Touch HD. Unfortunately, according to his tests, the Touch HD only has two multi-touch points, which is a bit of a bummer.

From what we can tell, the Touch HD uses a Spreadtrum 32-bit SC8830 quad-core processor, running at 1.3GHz. Becuase of the budget processor, the Touch HD isn’t really a powerhouse, only managing to score around 20K in AnTuTu. The phone is also running Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.

Khristian also included a couple of sample images from the phone, which you can check out below:

And that’s it! Thanks again Khristian for sending us your photos of this unit. We’re trying to track down a review device so we can do our own unboxing and review, so stand by for that.
