The sub-3K smartphone market is heating up!
It was only a matter of time until Cherry Mobile came out with their own price busting dual-core smartphone to compete with the offerings of their rivals, and today the company has unveiled just that with their Amethyst smartphone.

As you can see from the specs, the Amethyst is pretty competitive considering the price, though there are a few unknowns as of the moment. Cherry Mobile did not put in how much RAM this thing has, though some people have said in the original Facebook post that it only has 256MB of RAM. Battery capacity is also another question mark, although some have said that the phone only has a 1200mAh battery. If that’s the case there’s a good chance that the performance of the device may be compromised, though only a thorough test will reveal that for sure.
