GooPhone’s done it again
We know Chinese manufacturers like to clone flagship devices, but this is ridiculous. A mere two days after Samsung’s unveil of their newest flagship, Chinese company and clone manufacturer extraordinaire GooPhone announced their own knock-off version, complete with the S5’s trademark perforated back. Surprisingly (or unsurprisingly) the GooPhone S5 sports top of the line specs, including a 2GHz MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor, 5-inch, full HD display, 2GB RAM, 13-megapixel camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front facing camera. To tell you the truth, the GooPhone S5 doesn’t look like a bad phone really – and its $300 (Php 13389) pricetag may just lure in customers who want the look of the S5 without the hefty price tag that comes with it.
