Open up the box and you’re greeted by the Cloudfone Excite Prime 2 itself and separate compartments to house its accessories. Here’s what you’re getting out of the box:

Initial Impression: A Major Improvement from its Predecessor

While the phone is still made of plastic, Cloudfone has vastly changed form its previous iteration’s design to make it fit into the design trends of 2017. It has a removable back cover has rounded corners and gentle curves; making the device sit nicely in your hand, but more of a chamfered frame that gives you a better grip on the phone. It certainly a huge improvement on the first iteration of this device.

You’ve got the volume rocker and the power button on the right side of the device.

The 3.5mm audio jack up on top and the lone micro USB port on the bottom.

The speaker grille is located at the back of the phone along with the Excite Prime 2’s 13-megapixel camera, armed with a Sony IMX 135 sensor at an aperture size of f/2.o, plus the LED flash right below it. You may have noticed the camera bump on the phone but, thankfully, the included jelly case that comes with the device makes the phone rest nice and flat on a table.

You will, of course, need to remove the back cover to access the phone’s SIM card slots and the microSD card slot.

The Cloudfone Excite Prime 2 has a 5.5-inch HD IPS screen that’s protected by 2.5D curved glass. The IPS panel ensure that it’ll have great viewing angles, but you may have a tougher time reading messages when in direct sunlight.

On top of the display is the phone’s 8-megapixel camera with a LED flash for taking selfies in low-light conditions and has software assisted bokeh to help you blur out any photo bombers in your photos.

Under the hood of the Cloudfone Excite Prime 2 is a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor, which has been paired up with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage; making this device aimed at entry-level users on a tight budget who may be looking for a better shooter on their smartphone. Powering the device is a 3000mAh battery and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

The Cloudfone Excite Prime 2 is priced at Php 5,999.
