DJI is Set To Unveil a Tiny Drone Soon

While DJI is known for their drones, their lightest offering is the Mini 3, which weighs under 250g. This makes the Mini 3 legal the use without needing a drone license. DJI is looking to launch an even smaller drone soon with the Neo.

A leaked photo of the said drone shows that the Neo is a tiny drone weighing only 135 grams, which is even lighter than the Tello drone that weighs 225g. It’s design makes it a miniature version of the Avata 2, which weighs 377g. According to a leaked material, the Neo has an operating time of 16 minutes on a single charge–7 minutes lower than what the Avata 2 has to offer.

Aside from the prominent propeller guards and a gimbal for the camera, little is known about this tiny FPV drone from DJI. Reports indicate that DJI plans to launch the Neo by end of August, and it’s will reportedly match the $349 price tag of the HoverAIR X1, which is also a tiny drone.

Aside from being a tiny drone, making the Neo intriguing is that it will reportedly be compatible with DJI’s Goggles 3, making it a good alternative to the Avata 2 especially for beginners who want to get a hang of using FPV drones.
