DJI Unveils Mavic 2 Series Drones

You can now choose between one with zoom capabilities or one with a big sensor

DJI adds two new drones to its expanding portfolio of products with the Mavic 2 Zoom and Mavic 2 Pro. Common features between the two include Full HD video transmission for up to 8KM, 31 minutes run time, 8GB built-in storage, and a microSD card slot.

The difference are with the camera modules. The Mavic 2 Zoom uses the same 1/2.3” 12-megapixel sensor. However, it has a 2x optical zoom lens with a 24mm-48mm focal length equivalent, along with a 4x lossless digital zoom. One of the Mavic 2 Zoom’s cool features is its automatic dolly zoom that lets you do effects like this:

On the other hand, the Mavic 2 Pro has a 1-inch 20-megapixel Hasselblad sensor that has an adjustable f/2.8 to f/11 aperture. Aside from being able to shoot 4K30 video at 100Mbps, the Mavic 2 Pro can shoot 10-bit HDR and 10-bit Dlog-M video natively for the best possible image quality. Being a professional model, Mavic 2 Pro can travel up to 72km/h, resist winds of up to 38km/h, and go up to an altitude of 6km.

The Mavic 2 Pro will retail for $1,500(~Php 80.3k), while the Mavic 2 Zoom is priced at $1,250(~Php 66.7k). Check out some of the videos demonstating the Mavic 2’s capabilities:
