The next big feature for iPhones?
If the lack of dual SIM support is one of the reasons you do not want to get an iPhone, you might want to reconsider: There are new rumors pointing to Apple going for the Dual SIM route with at least 2 of the 3 iPhones to be launched this year.
According to the rumor, there will be two versions of the Dual SIM iPhone: One has a single SIM tray and an Apple SIM, and one has two SIM trays. The latter will be sold exclusively to China, while the former will be a global release.
If you are unaware, Apple SIM was introduced as a proprietary SIM card that can be used in over 180 countries. The proprietary tech was first introduced in the iPad Air 2 back in 2014. Its benefits include ease of changing wireless networks depending on the user’s data allocation.
Should the rumor be true, this will be the first time iPhones will have support for Apple SIM—as of now, it is exclusive to iPads only.
