Finally: Google Makes the Pixel Tablet Official with its Own Dock

After it was teased at I/O 2022, Google formally made the Pixel Tablet official as its first slate in a while. One of its highlights is that it comes bundled with a Charging Speaker Dock that connects the Pixel Tablet with POGO pins and provides 15w charging and a single 43.5w full-range speaker.

The inclusion of the dock means that the Pixel Tablet can turn into a smart display when you’re not actively using it on the go. Being a smart display, you can use Cast to watch videos through it. If you’re on the go and want a handy case, there’s a case that protects the tablet and adds a kickstand.

Save for the smart display feature, the Pixel Tablet is typical of what you’d expect with a slate. The 10.95-inch LCD display has a 2560×1600 resolution that supports styluses, and powering it is Google’s Tensor G2 processor which is accompanied by a Titan M2 security chip. It comes with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. You get 8-megapixel cameras on both the front and the back, while the power button has a fingerprint scanner.

Keeping the lights on is a 27wHr battery that Google claims can last for up to 12 hours of video streaming. Typical of Google products, it comes with Android 13 out of the box and up to 5 years of security updates.

The Pixel Tablet starts at $499(~Php 27.9k) and like other Pixel products, there’s no word if Google plans on making it available in the Philippines.
