First Shots: Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) in Malacca

We take the Galaxy A7 (2018) for a photo tour!

Samsung recently unveiled their first triple-camera smartphone, the Galaxy A7 (2018) for the SEA market here in Malaysia. We’ve given you a quick look at the phone and its wide-angle camera yesterday and today, we’re sharing photos taken with its triple camera module around the historic city of Melacca, around an hour and a half south of the capital.

Initially, we were skeptical of the wide angle lens of the phone, but it really does allow you to take a more complete shot of your surroundings compared to a traditional camera that’s usually in smartphones nowadays.

During our visit to the historic city, we found ourselves switching to the wide-angle camera more often than not.

It’s a little unfortunate then that you wide angle lens only has a fixed focus, as exposure control became a bit tricky especially in mixed scenes.

The photos taken from the main camera came out pretty well too, with good color saturation all around.

It’s too early to call it but it seems like Samsung’s promise of a superior imaging experience with the Galaxy A7 (2018) is true. We’ll have to use it for a bit more before we can give our verdict, but things are looking up for the Korean brand, at least for this particular phone.
