First Shots: Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus

First Shots: Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus

After the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S10 series in San Francisco last February 20, 2019, we were handed units so we can experience the latest flagship device of the Korean brand for ourselves.  I happily took it around the city and used it as my main shooter.  It did not disappoint.  I came home with wonderful memories and beautiful photos of my trip.  These are some of the shots I took:

Wide angle is life.

I thoroughly enjoyed the wide angle camera of the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus as I was able to capture more of the landscape in a single shot.  It’s perfect for travel geeks such as myself.

Here’s a photo taken with the main camera VS the wide-angle shooter for comparison.

Triple rear camera set up for the win!

While I used the wide-angle camera the most, I certainly won’t say no to having a telephoto lens.  Check out these pictures taken with the wide-angle camera, followed by the main shooter and a zoomed in shot after.

Night shots look great.

It may not have a night mode feature but the cameras perform pretty well even under lowlight conditions thanks to its aperture of f/1.5.

Takes dramatic portraits.

I took photos of my beautiful friend, Sheila to test out the live focus feature, and these are the results.  It really makes the subject stand out while giving us creative freedom to tweak the bokeh and modify the effects even after the picture has been taken.

As for the front cameras, I don’t take a lot of selfies and realized that I only took one for this trip!  However, we will have the full review up in a few days and we will let you know our thoughts on the front shooters of the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus.

What do you think of the cameras of Samsung’s latest flagship device?  Our full review should be out soon so do check back with us!
