It is more than the 102-megapixel sensor
Fujifilm finally brought its flagship GFX100 medium format camera to the Philippines two months after it was announced. Fujifilm’s latest professional camera is a statement for the Japanese brand: aside from boasting a 102-megapixel medium format sensor, the GFX100 is a tour de force for Fujifilm in showcasing the full potential of its X-Trans 4 image processor.
Housed in a professional DSLR form factor, the GFX100’s humongous sensor comes with in-body image stabilization and can shoot 10-bit 4K video at 30FPS without any form of cropping. As a professional stills camera, the GFX100 can shoot up to 5FPS and has a standard ISO range of 100-12800 (expandable up to 102400).
This makes the GFX100 a versatile medium format camera that caters not just to commercial and advertising photographers but also to those looking for an alternative to expensive cinema cameras.
Its Php 599,990 price tag may not be for everyone, but the GFX100 is priced competitively against medium format cameras offered from the likes of Hasselblad and PhaseOne. Add to the fact that you can use the GFX100 for taking 4K video using the full sensor, and Fujifilm is set to woo the professional crowd.
