Galaxy Note 20 Series to have 120Hz Display Panels

To reportedly use a new LTPO technology

With recent reports that Apple will be implementing 120hz ProMotion displays on its upcoming iPhone 12 Pro series, Display Supply Chain Consultants Founder/CEO Ross Young tweeted details about the display panels that will be used by Samsung’s Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20+.

Aside from the slight increase in size for both–6.42-inch Full HD+ for the Galaxy Note 20 and 6.87-inch Quad HD+ for the Galaxy Note 20+–both phablets will have a 120hz variable refresh rate display that dynamically adapts to what content is being viewed.

While it is not clear as to how different the implementation will be compared to the Galaxy S20 series, Young said that both Galaxy Note 20 models will use LTPO tech for their OLED panels, which should offer as much as 15% power savings compared to LTPS panels. LTPO panels are first seen with Apple’s Watch Series 4 and Samsung’s Galaxy Watch Active2.

In his Tweets, Young confirmed that there will be no Galaxy Note UItra–that spot will be occupied by the upcoming Galaxy Fold 2.
