Galaxy S20 Ultra Takes Sixth Spot in DxOMark’s Smartphone Ranking

Scores a point below the Mate 30 Pro 5G

DxOMark has released its official result for the Galaxy S20 Ultra, and gave Samsung’s premium flagship phone an overall score of 122. This places it below the Mate 30 Pro 5G and six points behind the P40 Pro, making the Galaxy S20 Ultra capture the sixth spot (together with the Honor V30 Pro) for best-performing smartphone by DxOMark.

Running down through the scores, the Galaxy S20 Ultra performed very well in the photo category with a category score of 132. DxOMark noted that the Galaxy S20 Ultra captured excellent exposure, dynamic range, and color in most lighting conditions, though fine details are reduced in low-light shooting. The same goes for the Galaxy S20 Ultra’s PDAF system, which generally performed well but experienced slow response times in low light situations. Both the S20 Ultra’s ultra-wide-angle and telephoto cameras performed well, with the latter doing excellent when the 4x optical zoom lens is used.

With the Galaxy S20 Ultra being one of the few phones capable of shooting 8K video, DxOMark said that the phone is a solid and consistent performer for video, with good exposure and detail in all lighting conditions.
