Confirms April 11 launch
Globe has just opened their Galaxy S5 page, asking interested users to sign up to be notified when exactly the telco will officially launch Samsung’s latest flagship. It’s not a pre-order page per se, though we’re sure Globe will be notifying everyone who signed up using their Facebook account if they want to grab a S5, with the accompanying Globe LTE plan (naturally). There’s also a small countdown counter on the upper right of the screen, which confirms the April 11 global rollout that Samsung promised when they launched the device. While there was really no doubt that the Philippines would be included, it was nice to get a confirmation anyway. It’ll be interesting to see if rival telco Smart comes up with their own Galaxy S5 page soon (we’re sure they don’t like being left behind) and if both telcos will launch Samsung’s new flagship simultaneously.
