A smart speaker in a smaller package
A year following the launch of the smart speaker Google Home, Google today launched a smaller version with the Google Home Mini. The Google Home Mini is a hockey puck-sized speaker that can do all the functions its bigger brother does like Google Assistant. It’s so small, it is “lighter than a full-grown chipmunk”. On top of its fabric cover are four LEDs that indicate when Google Assistant is working and listening to you. Its design gives a full 360-degree sound in a small package.
The Google Home Mini will retail for $49 and will be available in chalk, charcoal, and coral. Pre-orders will be available today and will be available in the US, UK, Canada, France, Germany, Australia, and Japan on October 19.
