Corning announced the latest generation of its Gorilla Glass tech with the Victus. The new aluminosilicate glass is a big improvement over last year’s Gorilla Glass 6 as it can withstand up to a two-meter drop on a hard surface, face first.
Aside from improved shatter resistance, Corning also improved the scratch resistance of Victus, which now can withstand up to an 8 Newton load. Check out more about Gorilla Glass Victus in the video below:
Corning said that Samsung will be the first to introduce a phone with Gorilla Glass Victus, and we expect the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra to be the first phone to sport this new glass.
