Here is Samsung’s Updated Android Pie Timeline

The Galaxy M10, M20 will NOT receive Android Pie out of the box

Following HMD Global’s update on its Android Pie rollout timeline, Samsung has released a new update for its Android Pie rollout.

Comparing to the initial update, Samsung has moved the Android Pie rollout for its 2017 flagships (Galaxy Note 8, S8, and S8+) a month earlier to next month, which is good news. The same goes for the Galaxy A series, as the updated timeline indicates that Samsung will be able to roll it out a month earlier than initially planned.

For this updated timeline, Samsung mentions that the Galaxy M10 and M20 will receive the update sometime August this year, which means Samsung’s upcoming entry-level phones will come with Android Oreo out of the box—which is quite a disappointment considering other brands (like the Honor 10 Lite) are launching their 2019 phones with Android Pie out of the box.

Slated for a January 28 launch, the Galaxy M20 will be an interesting offering from Samsung, as it is rumored to have an Exynos 7885 processor, 3GB RAM, 6-inch IPS display, 8-megapixel front camera, 15-megapixel and 5-megapixel rear cameras, USB-C,  and a generous 5000mAh battery.
