It has been quite a while since we heard from HONOR in the Philippines. The last HONOR we reviewed was their TWS earbuds, which we like how it delivered good sound quality at under Php 2k. As for the phone, the last one we reviewed dates back to 2019 with their entry-level HONOR 8S.

Since Huawei has let go of HONOR back in 2020, we don’t know if the brand will ever come back to the Philippines–until now. We recently received an invite for an HONOR event on August 9. We don’t know what to expect, but our speculation is that HONOR will bring over some of its recent phones to the Philippines.

If we base on the products being offered in Malaysia, possible candidates for HONOR phones coming to the Philippines include the flagship Magic4 series, the mid-range HONOR 70 series, and the entry-level X8. Both the Magic4 and 70 series come with 5G connectivity, which will prove to be an interesting landscape in the mid-range and flagship segments.

Aside from phones, there’s a possibility that HONOR might compete in the laptop segment should they decide to bring over their MagicBook laptops. Our source also told us that HONOR’s return to the Philippines will be bigger in scale compared to their operations back in the late 2010s.
