HONOR Debuts Magic5 Pro, Magic5 at MWC 2023

HONOR makes a bold statement at MWC 2023, as the brand officially makes the Magic Vs foldable available for global markets–along with debuting the Magic5 Pro as the new DxOMark King for both camera and display.

The Magic5 Pro flaunts a triple 50-megapixel rear camera setup for the main, ultra-wide, and telephoto shooters, making it truly versatile as a flagship device. The main camera uses a 1/1.2-inch sensor and has OIS, while the ultra-wide camera has a 2.5cm super macro feature. The telephoto camera, on the other hand, has 3.5x optical zoom, OIS, and a 30cm telephoto macro feature.

Aside from the large sensors used for the cameras, the Magic5 Pro makes use of Ultra Fusion Computational Optics, which helps in its camera performance, especially with pulling off great image quality even at 100x digital zoom.

The cameras are also supported by HONOR’s new Image Engine. The new tech has software features like Millisecond Falcon Capture Algorithm, which lets you capture complex scenes with precision and clarity. There’s also Super Night Capture for great low-light performance, and AI Motion Sensing Capture to get those decisive moments clearly.

Aside from those top-tier cameras, the Magic5 Pro features a 6.81-inch 120hz quad-curved display that aims to deliver an immersive viewing experience. The AMOLED display has a maximum brightness of 1800nits, and it shines when viewing HDR10+ content. The pill-shaped punch-hole has a 13-megapixel selfie shooter and a ToF depth sensor

As a flagship device, the Magic5 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and packs a larger-than-usual 5100mAh battery inside that supports 66w wired and 50w wireless charging. Its premium aluminum and glass body comes with an IP68 rating.

Aside from the Magic5 Pro, HONOR also revealed a few details about the vanilla Magic5. It’s similar to the Pro model by having a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and a 5100mAh battery with support for 66w wired charging. The cameras are slightly toned down on the Magic5 but are nonetheless impressive: 54-megapixel IMX800 main camera, 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and 32-megapixel telephoto camera.

It also has a quad-curved display, but the Magic5 uses a smaller 6.73-inch panel and has a single punch-hole that has a 12-megapixel selfie shooter.

The Magic5 is priced at 899 Euros(~Php 53k) for the 8GB/256GB model, while the Magic5 Pro is priced at 1199 Euros(~Php 71k) for the 12GB/512GB model.
