What’s New with the HONOR Pad X9a?

It has been almost 2 years since HONOR launched the Pad X9 as its budget tablet offering. It’s due for an update, and HONOR has unveiled the Pad X9a in Malaysia as its successor.

While it has the same 11.5-inch 120hz display (which has 400nits peak brightness and a 2508×1504 resolution) and Snapdragon 685 processor as its predecessor, there are several upgrades with the Pad X9a. For one, HONOR managed to make the Pad X9a around 0.1mm thinner and around 20 grams lighter than the Pad X9, and you also get more RAM onboard at 8GB instead of 4GB, making the Pad X9a more suitable for multitasking.

The display now gains stylus support, and the rear camera is now an 8-megapixel shooter. Despite being thinner and lighter, HONOR managed to fit in a bigger 8300mAh battery inside the Pad X9a, along with support for faster 35w wired charging. For software, it comes with Android 15-based MagicOS 9.0 out of the box.

Other features include a 4-speaker system, a metal unibody frame, 5-megapixel selfie camera, and 128GB storage. HONOR has yet to disclose its price in Malaysia, but we speculate that it will be priced at under Php 12k once HONOR makes it available in the Philippines.
