A first for the sub-brand
Huawei’s upcoming smartphone for their Honor sub-brand, the Honor V8, has apparently been leaked by TENAA. While the phone’s dual-camera setup isn’t the first for the sub-brand, the rumored 5.7-inch QHD display is. This is Huawei’s second QHD smartphone, with the first being their Nexus 6P built in collaboration with Google.
Aside from the camera setup and 2K display, the Honor V8 is expected to come with a 2.3GHz octa-core processor, along with 32GB of storage. There’s a higher-tier version of the V8 that’ll come with a 2.5GHz octa-core processor and 64GB of storage. Both versions will have 4GB of RAM to play with.
With the specifications, this may turn out to be the first premium-priced smartphone for the sub-brand. Honor was originally setup by Huawei as a low-budget brand to combat the likes of Xiaomi and Meizu in their home turf.
