A cheaper version of the One M8 is allegedly coming
HTC’s latest flagship has one of the nicest externals you can ever get in a smartphone, but not everybody digs the unibody aluminum chassis, especially since it adds to the cost of the device. News out of China says that HTC is coming out with a plastic-bodied version of their latest flagship, which should reduce the overall price of the device. Engadget has confirmed with their sources that the device is real and will be called the One M8 Ace, and will come with roughly the same hardware as the One M8 did, namely the Snapdragon 801 chipset and 5-inch full HD display. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on where you stand on the whole ultrapixel thing) the One M8 Ace won’t be sporting the One M8’s dual camera setup, which may mean that it may field your typical camera module, though there’s still a chance that the company may shoehorn an ultrapixel camera in there.
