Spec, photo, and render leaks have been popping up in droves on the Internet as we enter the last quarter of 2016. This time, we’ve got more rumored tidbits for the Huawei Mate 9 phablet, long been speculated for a December release window by industry analysts. The Mate 9 is expected to be the first Huawei smartphone to pack the new Kirin 960 SoC.
We earlier reported the possibility of the Huawei Mate 9 having Leica-branded cameras (like the Huawei P9), along with some key specifications. A few more juicy details have emerged from Chinese leaksters on the phablet.
This is all we have so far on the Mate 9. Stay tuned for more leak coverage.
Huawei Mate 9 (Rumored Specs)
- HiSilicon Kirin 960 octa-core processor
- 4GB or 6GB RAM
- 20-megapixel dual rear cameras, Leica optics, optical image stabilization
- Cat.12 LTE support
- Android 7.0 Nougat (EMUI 5.0)
Given that the Huawei Mate 8 came out in the 6-inch phablet form factor, it wouldn’t be a big leap to assume that the upcoming Mate 9 might also follow suit. The dual 20MP Leica rear cameras, though, are a pleasant surprise!
