Not all Nova 4 variants are getting a 48-megapixel camera
While it is a bummer that the Nova 4 might not make it to the Philippines, here’s one possible reason why the Nova 4 will be a China-only phone: in a leaked slide, the Nova 4 is said to have a Kirin 970 processor, 128GB internal storage, and a 3750mAh battery—same set of features found on the Nova 3.
Aside from the 6.4-inch punch hole display, what makes the Nova 4 different is that it has more RAM at 8GB, a higher resolution 25-megapixel front camera, and two different triple rear camera configurations: One has a 20-megapixel + 16-megapixel + 2-megapixel setup, while the other has the much-talked-about 48-megapixel + 16-megapixel + 2-megapixel setup.
Our best guess is that there will be a vanilla Nova 4 and a Nova 4 Pro, with the latter using a 48-megapixel primary rear camera. The Nova 4 is slated to launch in China on December 17, so we will know more about Huawei’s next-generation premium mid-range phone soon.
