Aside from being the biggest MatePad to date with its 12.6-inch OLED display, the MatePad Pro 12.6 is among the few Huawei devices that use HarmonyOS. Despite the display size, the MatePad Pro 12.6 is more compact than usual with its 5.6mm slim bezels on all four sides–while fitting an 8-megapixel selfie snapper on the top bezel.

It is also a 5G-capable tablet with its Kirin 9000E processor that is paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB UFS UFS 3.1 storage. Keeping the lights on is a 10050mAh battery that supports 40w wired charging, 27w wireless charging, and 10w reverse wireless charging. Other unique features of the MatePad Pro 12.6 include a triple rear camera setup that consists of a 12-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and 3D depth sensor, a best-in-class 8-speaker sound system, and support for the second-generation M-Pencil.

Huawei MatePad Pro 12.6 Philippines Launch Date

Huawei announced that they will unveil more details about the flagship MatePad on June 25, 2 PM via Facebook Live. We are not sure if they are going to bring in the same 5G-ready variant to our shores (the previous-generation MatePad Pro that was sold in the Philippines only had LTE), so it is best to wait for Huawei’s official announcement.

As for pricing, we expect it to be close to China SRP: the WiFi-only version with 128GB storage retails for CNY 4,999 (~Php 37.7k), while the 5G-ready version with 256GB storage sells for CNY 7,999 (~Php 60.3k).
