There’s a price for buying quality
Huawei’s Android Wear offering, simply called Huawei Watch, has officially been priced by the company. Starting at $349 or Php 16.3K, Huawei’s watches are quite expensive, but looking at the quality of the wearable, it’s not hard to see why. Huawei has always maintained that their smartwatch would be a watch first and a wearable second, and its styling reflects that. The Huawei Watch uses a 42mm diameter round face, standard lugs, and a scratch resistant, double layer sapphire crystal protection for the 1.4-inch AMOLED, 400 x 400 resolution display along with the 316L cold-forged stainless steel body contribute to the premium feel of the device.
Anyway, there will be several price tiers for the watch, dictated by what kind of body and band combination you get. The watch starts at $349 for the steel and black leather combination, and goes up in price as you change out the bands for steel. Here’s the pricing, according to Phone Arena:
- Stainless Steel watch body & Black Leather band – $349
- Stainless Steel watch body & Steel Link bracelet – $399
- Stainless Steel watch body & Stainless Steel Mesh – $399
- Black DLC-coated Stainless Steel & Black Link Bracelet – $449
- Rose Gold-plated Stainless Steel & Alligator-pressed Brown Leather – $699
- Rose Gold-plated Stainless Steel & Rose Gold-plated Link Bracelet – $799
