Works as a backup solution for the Mate 20
Huawei is no stranger in pushing for innovation. While the Mate 20 family is packed with cutting-edge features like the Mate 20 Pro’s reverse wireless charging feature, the Chinese brand introduced a rather strange accessory.
Carrying the codename “ST310-S1”, one can easily mistake it for a wireless charging pad with fabric coating. In fact, this circular device contains a 1TB hard drive that is used to automatically back up any Mate 20 phone when connected. Aside from the backup feature, it also features a pass-through charging port that supports Huawei’s 22.5W SuperCharge tech.
The listing notes that it will support other Huawei phones in the future, but does not indicate any price. If we read things right, this strange product is promising especially if it mean being able to back up the whole phone beyond media files.
