Huawei’s Nova 2s Is Now Official

Kirin 960, Quad-camera plus 18:9 display

We’ve been waiting for it, and it’s finally official. Huawei’s successor to its Nova 2i, the Nova 2s, has been announced by the company in China. The new phone sports an 6-inch, 18:9 full HD+ display and quad-camera setup as its older brother, but Huawei has put in serious hardware in this new premium mid-range phone.

The Nova 2s has a Kirin 960 processor plus a choice of either 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage or 6GB RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. If you don’t remember, Kirin 960 is the same processor that the company used with their P10 and P10 Plus flagships earlier this year.

The phone also has an upgraded 16-megapixel color and 20-megapixel monochrome rear camera with f/1.8 apertures, along with a 20-megapixel front camera with a f/2.0 aperture paired with a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The phone has a USB Type-C port, which has SuperCharge tech in it, along with a 3,340mAh battery and Android 8.0 Oreo and EMUI 8.

The 4GB/64GB variant of the Nova 2s sells for RMB 2699 or Php 20K, while the 6GB/128GB variant will sell for RMB 3399 or around Php 25.9K.
