Huawei’s next flagship looks to be a beast

It’s just a few months till Mobile World Congress, the stage where most manufacturers show off their shiny new phones. One of the companies that is looking to make a splash this year is Huawei, fresh off of the success of their Mate 10 flagship devices. And if the recent report from Evan Blass AKA evleaks is to be believed, Huawei’s next entry in their highly successful P series of phones will be an imaging juggernaut.

According to him, a digital artist at one of the company’s creative agencies added a series of ads to their portfolio, which makes pretty big claims for the company’s upcoming “PCE” series of phones. According to the ads, the new phone will have pro triple-lens, Leica branded rear cameras with a 40-megapixel sensor plus 5x hybrid zoom performance, as well as a 24-megapixel selfie camera and AI camera assist tech.

Huawei’s no stranger to putting in dual cameras in their phones, but if the ads are true, then the upcoming phones will be the first ones to have a rear triple camera setup. 5x hybrid zoom also sounds pretty cool, but it’ll probably be a mix of digital and optical zoom. The upcoming phone(s) will also probably be armed with Huawei’s latest Kirin 970 processor, which fills the part where the poster talks about AI assisted shots.
