While the buzz with Infinix is with the ZERO 40, Infinix has another interesting offering with the HOT 50 5G, which was recently unveiled in India. The phone is interesting because it offers 5G connectivity with a starting price of around Php 7k when converted.
The HOT 50 5G has a fairly decent spec sheet: powering it is a Dimensity 6300 processor that’s paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB internal storage. With the higher-end version priced at around Php 8k, that’s an attractive price point for a budget 5G phone.
The HOT 50 5G’s display may only have an HD+ resolution, but you do get a 120hz refresh rate and a punch-hole design, which we think is a fair compromise. As for the cameras, the HOT 50 5G utilizes a 48-megapixel IMX582 sensor, which we usually see on midrange phones. Accompanying it are two filler cameras–so it technically only has one useful camera.
The rest of the HOT 50 5G’s features include an 8-megapixel selfie camera, Android 14-based XOS 14.5, IP54 rating, and a 5000mAh battery with support for 18w USB-C charging.
The Infinix HOT 50 5G is priced at INR 9,999(~Php 7k) for the 4GB/64GB model and INR 10,999(~Php 8k) for the 8GB/128GB model. We expect it to be available in the Philippines soon, so stay tuned for updates.
