You’ve probably not heard about this, but Insta360 also has webcams in their portfolio.Their first one, called the Link, came out in 2022 and the Link 2 succeeds it in 2024 with a lower price tag and smaller design. Joining it is a more compact Link 2C that ditches the 2-axis gimbal for a more compact form factor.
Common between both Insta360 webcams is that they support 4K30 video in both horizontal and vertical orientation, and make use of a 1/2” sensor with improved HDR and low-light capabilities and a f/1.8 aperture with PDAF.
The setup can create a bokeh effect and also supports background replacement. The lens has a 26mm focal length equivalent and make use of AI-based tracking to keep you in frame. Speaking of AI, you also get AI-powered noise reduction, which aims to filter different external noises.
The Link 2 keeps the 2-axis gimbal and has better tracking capabilities around your room. Both cameras make use of a magnetic mount that allows you to place them on metal surfaces, along with a tripod screw for more conventional mounting. They are compatible with various platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Twitch, and more.
The Insta360 Link 2 is priced at $200(~Php 12k), while the Link 2C is priced at $150(~Php 8.5k). There’s no word ywt if both webcams will be made available in the Philippines.
