A high end NUC

Remember Intel’s tiny desktop concept the NUC (Next Unit of Computing)? The company has taken that tiny computing concept and cranked it up a notch via the newest offering in their NUC family, Skull Canyon. This awesome-looking machine takes the small-computing concept to the next level by shoving a high-end, 2.6GHz (3.5GHz Turbo) 45W quad-core Core i7-6770HQ processor in it, as well as their new Iris Pro 580 GPU.

If that wasn’t enough, the Skull Canyon NUC can connect to an external GPU (such as Razer’s Core) via a Thunderbolt 3 port, giving it serious gaming capabilities. The Skull Canyon can take DDR4 memory, as well as PCI Express SSDs and comes decked out with 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth for wireless connectivity.

There’s an HDMI 2.0 port on tap as well as a mini DisplayPort 1.2, four USB 3.0 ports, headphone jack, SD Card slot, gigabit LAN and an IR sensor.

Obviously the new high-end NUC isn’t going to be cheap – Intel is saying that the new device will retail for $650 (30.1K) for the barebones model – the 16GB RAM, 256SSD and Windows 10 model will be priced at $999 (Php 46.3K).
