Is That a Dynamic Island? Xiaomi Unveils Civi 2 in China

With all the phones Xiaomi has in its portfolio, the Civi series is quite unusual for being exclusive to China and for targeting a very specific market. We still don’t know if it will be available globally, but Xiaomi announced the Civi 2 in China that features a punch-hole that looks quite similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island–except that it packs a dual selfie camera setup.

With a design that you’d probably mistake for Dynamic Island (except that it has no software tricks), the Civi 2’s pill-shaped punch-hole houses two 32-megapixel selfie cameras: one has an f/2.0 aperture, while the other has a 110-degree FOV. Being a phone catering to those who love taking selfies, the Civi 2 has two LED lights housed within the razor-thin top bezel for more flattering selfies.

The Civi 2’s rear panel is reminiscent of the modular layout used by all of the Xiaomi 12 series (and the Redmi K50 Ultra to an extent). It’s a triple rear camera setup that consists of a 50-megapixel IMX766 main camera, 20-megapixel IMX376K ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. Powering the phone is a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor with up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB internal storage. It has the same 4500mAh battery found on its predecessors, but now supports 67w USB PD 3.0 charging.
