JBL Stuck A Display On Their New TWS Earbuds

When JBL announced the Tour 2 Pro with a display on the charging case, people were wondering why you need one on a pair of TWS earbuds. To be fair with JBL, the touchscreen display has many uses: you can use it to tweak essential settings on your TWS earbuds like EQ, noise canceling, and ambient sound. JBL is not content with only one TWS offering that has a built-in display: the brand added three more models to its lineup with the Live 3 series, which consists of the Beam, Buds, and Flex.

While the Live 3 series all have a 1.45-inch LED touchscreen display, there are a few differences: the Live Buds 3 has a stemless and an IP55 rating, while the Live Beam 3 and Live Flex 3 settle for a stem design–with the Live Flex 3 having a slightly lower IP rating because of their open-type design.

Going back to that unique display, they get more functions: when paired with your phone, you can answer calls, view texts, and even get social media alerts–making the Live 3 series function like a smartwatch in principle.

As for battery life, there are differences between the 3 models. The Live Buds 3 is rated for up to 10 hours on a single charge and up to 30 hours with the charging case, while the Live Beam 3 offers a slightly longer battery life at 12 hours on a single charge and up to 36 hours with the case. Lastly, the Live Flex 3 is rated for up to 10 hours on a single charge and up to 40 hours with the case.

JBL Philippines told us at their launch event in Cebu that all three models under the Live 3 Series are priced at Php 11,799, making them more affordable than the Tour 2 Pro.
