Iterating on the successes of the first generation Google Pixel
The folks over at XDA Developers have posted what they claim to be the partial specifications of Google’s upcoming Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones. Their source for this report is an insider who seems to have had hands-on experience on the prototype models. As for launch details, both handsets are expected to be making a grand entrance into the industry later this year. For now, here’s what we’ve got on Google’s Pixel 2 series.
Google Pixel 2 (Codename: Walleye)
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor
- Qualcomm Adreno 540 graphics unit
- 4GB of RAM
- 4.97-inch Full HD display, 1920 x 1080 resolution
- 64GB of internal storage
- Fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, no 3.5mm audio jack
- Android 7.1.1 Nougat
Google Pixel 2 XL (Codename: Taimen)
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor
- Qualcomm Adreno 540 graphics unit
- 4GB of RAM
- 5.99-inch QHD display, 2560 x 1440 resolution
- 128GB of internal storage

It’s interesting to see that Google is going the way of Apple and removing the 3.5mm headphone jack in the Pixel 2 – if this leak report is to be trusted, anyway. As for the Pixel 2 XL, there’s no confirmation whether it’ll be coming with the said headphone jack or not.
