Lenovo expands its ThinkPad line of laptops with an all-new Z-series that consists of the Z13 and Z16. Both models break away from the familiar design of the ThinkPad, incorporating new colors and materials to represent Lenovo’s premium business laptop portfolio.

Instead of using black as its main color, both the ThinkPad Z13 and Z16 make use of bronze and artic grey accents, along with sustainable materials that include recycled aluminum or recycled vegan leather (for the Z13). This push for sustainability also extends with the packaging, where Lenovo used 100% recyclable and compostable bamboo and sugarcane for the box and 90% Post-Consumer Content (PCC) for the AC adapter.

Powering both laptops is AMD’s new Ryzen Pro 6000 series processor with a Microsoft Pluton security processor that’s optimized for keeping Windows 11 secure. The ThinkPad Z13 can be configured with a Ryzen 7 Pro 6860Z processor, while the ThinkPad Z16 can be configured with an RX 6500M discrete GPU.

Being modern versions of the ThinkPad we all know, the Z13 and Z16 feature narrow bezels and 16:10 displays, along with a dedicated Communications Bar that houses dual-array microphones and a Full HD webcam with a 1.4um sensor. The glass haptic ForcePad integrates seamlessly with the glass palm rest, while the iconic TrackPoint gains a double-tap function to launch a Communication Quick Menu for accessing camera and microphone settings.

The ThinkPad Z13 can be configured with a 2.8K OLED touchscreen, while the Z16 is available with a 4K OLED touchscreen. The ThinkPad Z13 comes with two USB-C 4.0 ports and a 50wHr battery, while the Z16 has three USB-C 4.0 ports, an SD card reader, and a 70wHr battery.

The Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 starts at $1549(~Php 79.4k), while the Z16 starts at $2099(~Php 107.5k). Both models will be available from May 2022.
