Lenovo’s Legion gaming brand kicks off 2021 with its updated line of gaming laptops. Comprising of the Legion 7, Legion Slim 7, Legion 5 Pro, and Legion 5, all four models come with AMD’s latest Ryzen 5000-H series processors and NVIDIA’s RTX 3000 series GPUs.
The Legion 7 and Legion 5 Pro get a 16-inch display, making them the first 16:10 gaming laptops that boast a Quad HD resolution, 165hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, and support for both G-sync and FreeSync. Aside from those features, both the Legion 7 and Legion 5 Pro support 100% sRGB, Dolby Vision, and Display HDR 400.
Both the Legion 7 and Legion 5 Pro come with TrueStrike keyboards, Nahimic Audio, Legion AI engine, electronic webcam shutter, and Coldfront 3.0 thermal management. The Legion 5 Pro comes with USB-C charging and Intel WiFi 6, while the Legion 7 can be configured with WiFi 6 Killer AX1650 modem.
The Legion Slim 7 retains its title as one of the thinnest gaming laptops with NVIDIA RTX GPUs, though this time it opts for Ryzen 5000-series GPUs (up to Ryzen 9 5900). Its 15.6-inch display has Full HD resolution,144hz refresh rate, and 100 Adobe RGB, though you can opt for a higher-resolution 4K display with 60hz refresh rate and 100% sRGB. Being an ultraslim gaming laptop, you can charge the Legion Slim 7 via USB-C power delivery for those times when you are not gaming. Other features include a fingerprint reader integrated into the power button, physical webcam shutter, and optional WiFi 6 Killer AX1650 modem.
You also get the same features found on the Legion 7: TrueStrike keyboard, Nahimic Audio, Legion AI engine, and Coldfront 3.0 thermal management.
The Legion 5 offers the best value-for-money when it comes to gaming laptops. Available in 15-inch and 17-inch models, the Legion 5 is powered by up to a Ryzen 9 5800H processor and up to a RTX 3070 GPU. The 15-inch models have a Full HD resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio, 165hz refresh rate, 100% sRGB, and support for FreeSync. The 17-inch models also get a Full HD resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio, and 100% sRGB, while refresh rate is at 144hz. Like the Legion 5 Pro, you get the following features: TrueStrike keyboard, Nahimic Audio, Legion AI engine, Intel WiFi 6, USB-C charging, and Coldfront 3.0 thermal management.
All four Legion laptops will be available on Q1 2021.
