LG Settles Lawsuit Over Bootlooping Devices

Getting a lot of buzz

Members of the class action lawsuit can get a hefty rebate or cold, hard cash

Remember when throngs of angry LG customers sued the company over bootloop issues on their phones? Well, LG has settled that lawsuit recently, and now the company will be dispensing either a hefty rebate or cold, hard cash to people who joined in.

According to law firm Girard Gibbs, LG reached a settlement with the people who joined in on the lawsuit and is offering either a $700 rebate towards a new LG phone (that would be the V30) or $425 in cash.

The V30 is a great option here since it has proved immune to bootlooping issues so far, though people who already have gone through the gauntlet of actually suing LG because of said issues may not want to try their luck there. $425 sounds like a sweet deal, in comparison.

Those who joined the lawsuit will have to file a “Proof of Claim” survey by Feb 12 of this year, with the payment being disbursed sometime around March.
